Our team of clinical experts will guide you through the assessment process in a supportive and kind way. We are here to help and want to make your experience as easy as possible.

There are four main steps to neurodevelopmental assessment and diagnosis.
1. FREE online test (recommended)
This is a short online questionnaire that helps us provide you with an initial recommendation. The number of questions range from 10-18 and you will be provided with an indicative result. NB this will not be a formal diagnosis.
2. Initial consultation
The initial consultation lasts 60 minutes and explores current concerns, including neurodiversity and any mental health difficulties. The initial consultation is conducted mostly with the parents (if for a child), with the child attending briefly. We will then make a recommendation regarding the next steps.
3. Pre-assessment questionnaires
Neurodevelopmental questionnaires are sent out after the initial assessment and returned to us before the next appointment.
4. Diagnostic assessment
Depending on recommendations following the Initial Consultation, one or more specialised interviews will be carried out in order to explore specific traits and difficulties. This may involve an informant, such as a parent, who can provide some perspective on childhood and adulthood traits. For children under 12 there is usually an in-person appointment included in the assessment process. For all young people, we collect information from school or college which can include reports, questionnaires and a meeting with the young person’s SENCo or class teacher for additional information.
