Claire has over 25 years experience as a pharmacist and has additional specialist postgraduate training as an Independent Prescriber. As such, she has similar prescribing rights to psychiatrists who work with people with ADHD and follows the strict ethical and professional standards of her professional body the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC).
After qualifying as a pharmacist in 1998, she spent many years supporting patients in community pharmacies before returning to university to study for a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice. She then worked within a GP practice, diagnosing and assessing physical health conditions, before discovering her calling to work in the mental health prescribing field. Following her own ADHD diagnosis, at 48, Claire completed further specialist qualifications in ADHD, so she is now registered to diagnose and prescribe medication for ADHD in adults and children.
Having personally experienced the private diagnosis and medical treatment pathway, as well as having helped countless patients to do the same, she is particularly well-placed to help patients start their own ADHD medication journey. She provides expert advice on shared care protocols, helping patients potentially access free NHS prescriptions once their medication is stable. She is passionate about ADHD and offers her patients the highest quality of clinical care.
