Sophia Pettenuzzo

I studied Psychology at the University of Stirling and went on to achieve an MSc in Psychological Research at the University of Edinburgh. I have a strong interest in diagnostic assessments, which was developed through my time studying my MSc. Prior to becoming an Assistant Psychologist I worked with Scottish Autism as an Autism Practitioner, where I had the pleasure of working with many neurodivergent people of varied support needs.

Working in this role solidified my knowledge surrounding the mental health of individuals with ASD as well as the conditions which often come hand in hand.

I am incredibly passionate about improving understanding and awareness surrounding Autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as the mental health of neurodiverse individuals. Empathy and compassion concerning the diagnosis of these conditions, as well as the conditions themselves, are extremely important. I know that this understanding and support paired with a diagnosis can be life changing and allows an individual to explore their own strengths and support needs.
