Interpersonal Therapist
Registered Mental Health Nurse

I am a Therapist with an initial background in Mental Health Nursing with 14 years of experience of working within mental health. My passion lies in understanding and embracing neurodiversity, recognising that each individual's brain functions uniquely. Throughout my career I have worked to help clients navigate some of the challenges often associated with neurodiversity.

I began my career working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, before specialising as an ADHD specialist nurse where I provided one to one care for children and adolescents, providing parenting support, school assessments and developed and delivered training packages for education providers with the aim of better supporting their neurodiverse populations.

I moved into adult services and trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, here I worked with a number of common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem and OCD. Due to my previous experience I found myself specifically supporting those with neurodiversity, using approaches grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet the specific needs of neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other neurodevelopmental presentations.

In addition to working with CBT I have further trained in Interpersonal Therapy for depression, a therapy that looks to alleviate symptoms of depression while improving  the quality of interpersonal relationships and enhance interpersonal functioning.

My background has helped me to work with people as individuals but also consider a wider holistic stance, I endeavour to collaborate closely with people to develop personalised treatment plans that promote self-awareness, resilience, and adaptive coping strategies.

I aim to develop a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and empowered to embrace their strengths while addressing areas of difficulty.
