Elena Georgakopoulou
Counselling Psychologist
I am a Counselling Psychologist, with extensive experience working in the NHS and privately. I have worked with adults, adolescents and younger children, and tent to use an eclectic and integrated model of CBT, Systemic and Person-centred approaches. My work often entails working with parents and liaising with school settings.
Some of the areas that interest me are autism & autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD, anxiety and depression, OCD, low self-esteem and confidence, loss of meaning and direction in life, relationship problems and attachment.
I tend to use strength-based counselling and principles of coaching psychology and NLP. As well as specialising in neurodiversity, I have an interest in working therapeutically with expats as I have personal experience of living and working internationally.
I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling Psychology. I abide by the code of Ethics and conduct of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Standards of the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
I also have Greek accreditation to work as an accredited Psychologist from the Greek Government.
